time check: 3pm (to be exact). the time that this post was created was the moment when i felt like sweating it out. so i went for a jog after uploading these pictures.

was a crazy week. having to hand in three assignments in the same day is MADNESS! these assignments made me missed out playing Buaya Week.

though i've missed out the fun of playing somebody's mystery angel, i still being loved by an angel who didn't bother to be ANONYMOUS.

after my forensic science class, which was 10pm on a friday night, i got back to my room. and i saw my door got buaya-ed with this small, little A4 sized paper.on a closer look, i 've no idea what is the message that this small, little A4 sized paper trying to convey.

Option 1: Someone was buaya-ing Damien by addressing to him and playing a prank on me by signing off using my name; and pasting it on my door.
Option 2: please see Option 1.
Option 3: please read Option 1 and 2. (haha..)

when i got back hall on Sunday night, someone delievered a glowing heart and it was just for me!

the glowing heart with a rose that never wilt =)

SURPRISE NO 1: it is always so nice to have someone prepare breakfast for you especially when it is ai xin zhao chan! (though i'm not a fan of bacon)
SURPRISE NO 2: the warmth by these tealight candles on my table melted my heart! aww..so sweet..the flame melts the candle, warmth melts my heart. (and apparently, the candles were super near my lappy..lucky it didn't melt =P )

"SURPRISE" NO 3: surprise was in inverted commas because i already know that i'll be receiving something. but i little did i expect to have the most unique gift: a pair of keychains that has both our names. so cool manz!
SURPRISE NO 4: after a long day in school, i was super hungry. it's like telepathic; a seafood spaghetti was presented to you for dinner..yummy! =) so tia xing!
SURPRISE NO 5: i can now gaze the stars in my room =) the "stars" are always shining upon you as you sleep under them. so romantic!
though i missed the Buaya Week, i guess after all, i didn't lose much =)

hope you like it! i mean if you don't there is nothing i can do. oh well, just too bad lah okay..haha..

HAPPY BUAYA WEEK!
TO LOVE AND BE LOVED.
looks like you're actually having lots of fun. so i guess you aren't really deprive of me buaya-ing you. let others do the job for just seven days.

just so sorry that i can't really buaya you in this buaya week (but that doesn't mean you can do a sloppy work on my door lor. so NOT sincere! buaya people so well..aiya, don't need to say the second part alr. you know yourself lah..hee =P)

it's kind of sad for me cos' this is my last semester and i can't play it for the last time..*sob sob..super busy with all my deadlines. there's nothing much i can do except photoshop. and yes, another over-used idea once again! also, i want to apologise for being unreasonable and cranky. i kinda just throw my tantrum. but then, i'm so glad you have been patient with me and willing to listen to me.

lots of thoughts when doing this and that. realized haven't done lots of stuff and take lots of pictures. but then, come to think about it, luckily we haven't, else i can't accommodate all the pictures in the small little frame.

black to ash brown.

come on, girl! jiayou x3

jus cut my hair yesterday. the length of my hair is as long as; or rather as short as the first time when i cut off my long curly hair. but that's according to my sister.

after dinner, i met her up at the hotel to have dinner. when she came down from her office stairs, she said "you look so much better but why you still go and cut the length? I thought you want to have long hair already?" And i told her "cos' it gets screwed up whenever i try to keep it long." apparently, i always go to the wrong place to trim my hair so well, that's just too bad.

this was how long my hair were before i cut it. =)
this is a close-up one..yarpz..they were once my curly long hair..
and yyyYYYaaarRRrpppPPzzz... i cut it WITH NO REGRETS!

this was how short it had become..

actually, i don't really hate short hair. sometimes, i feel i look better with short hair (and my dad agrees!) he was so happy that i cut it short then. i wonder what gave me the courage to make such a great change. guess i was stressed then..honestly, i felt good after cutting it. new and refresh kexi!

looking at the pictures, i feel like going somewhere..out of Singapore. =) cruise trip!

Saturday, October 4, 2008

finally, after a day's work..came home this late morning to find my house covered with plastic sheets because of some paintwork. okay, NOT SOME since the whole house is now covered with fresh paint.

the color used for the master's bedroom and living room is barely white..i mean, BARLEY white. apparently, it isn't that white as i imagined it to be. it's so-called off-white or pale yellow. but not bad lah..so no complaints. =P

and my room is pink in color..finally..hurray! so SssswweeeeT lah! (haha..so bimbotic!)
oh, what a pity! can't really see the color from this picture. it's okie..still can see the pi-ink ka-ler My Melody. can you make a guess, between the two photo frame, which one belongs to me?

since my house is kind of under "mini" upgrading, how can my dad possibly slip the chance of changing the lightings. and thanks to him, i almost have to shower in the dark..haha..my sister and i freaked out as we were told that we might be showering in the dark. and we started to be make some noise and my dad said "haiz..the three women in the house..." which is of course my mom, sister and me! poor dad, the one and only man..but hey! not every man get to have three women in the house ok..haha..

lucky we have a table lamp that we bought from IKEA which i didn't bring to hall. you'll never know when you need it in an innovative way.

luckily, IKEA has a extendable table lamp. long enought to be extended into the bathroom.

yeah! we don't need to undergo "army training" - shower in the dark. VICTORY!
*tink! what a brilliant idea. haha. my bimbo sister keeps saying that our bathroom is so retro cos' of the table lamp and the door. just a pity that the bathroom door is not those jade green with brown wooden frames, else it'll be really retro and ILOVERETRO!

totally hate the feeling. don't feel like doing anything, going anywhere; except lying on my bed and hugging my strawberry. oh gosh! feel like crap. how can i feel like doing nothing when my test is tomorrow! this is horrible...

i felt so bad. totally forgotten to call KK before he left sg. to KK: if you're reading this, I AM SORRY that i cant send you off. but when you come back, we shall hang out k (though by the time you come back, it's freaking near my exams..i'll still try to make time..oh well, if not after my exams lah, which is early Dec!)

time to do some stretching to "dispense" the cramps.

i hear somebody's complain..complaining about my priority list. alright, for you i delicate this to post to you.

the first time i heard of you was at the breakfast table. i had no idea who you were, where you came from, what you did because i wasn't interested and i didn't want to care about it. the first time i saw you was when you came to my room and asked me to attend the formal dinner with you as an offically unofficial date. though i hesitated, i didn't know why eventually i agreed to it. (that's not the point, the point is i STILL miss the singles' table, shucks! =P haha)

ever since then, we hit it off pretty well.

i don't know how but somehow, i'm beginning to lay my trust on you (yarp, at an alarming rate!) it shock everyone around me because this is not my usual style. i guess i shouldn't use the word 'style'. many people didn't expect it and they were kind of curious what was going on. i believe until now they still don't understand me and my decisions. i know people are talking about us and honestly, i don't enjoy to be in the lead in the hot topic. i hate to think about what they talk about us. instead of being supportive, it hurts to find out that my friends (or maybe i think they are my friends) are also discussing about it too.

but seriously, i don't care and i don't give a sh*t about it (but by blogging about it, i guess i've already been bothered by it, what an irony!) because it's between us. i believe in myself, like i have faith in you. i surprised everyone but BABY, I'M AMAZED BY YOU.

a bit no originality but oh well you know, i can't sing. i don't know how play guitar. we are not at a place where i can dedicate a song to bunny. so what i can do is to copy and paste the lyrics of Lone Star's Amazed to you.

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with youIt just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

Saturday, September 27, 2008

honestly, it's getting on my nerve because YOU JUST DON'T GET IT!!!

i'm so sick of telling you that I AM OVER IT. i expect you to move on like i do and stop dwelling in the past. come on, LIVE ON AND JUST LET IT GO. i mean seriously, what can you do? find doreamon and ask him to help you manipulate the time? it doesn't matter anymore and it is no longer important. how can i convince you? hadn't i told you before that i would move on after i had finished my piece that night?

i get so tired of repeating myself... really... sometimes, i feel as if you don't really understand me. why do you have to think that i'm so emotionally unstable? is it just because i don't make a big hu-ha and kick a big fuss out of it? i always believe that i'm strong girl. when i say go, i will not stop; and when i stop and it doesn't work out the way i want, i will not hesitate to stick around. believe me, i am much stronger than you think. i am really clueless on how to convince you any further. the thing is i don't usually hide my feelings because if i do, i'm a blardy idiot lah! i am your girl, how can i not possibly not tell you if i meet something that totally upsetting.

i want you to support me, not feeling sorry for me. i want you to smile for me, not feeling angry for me. like you always say, time will tell but you didn't expect that it reveal so fast. unbelieving fast and you are shocked. it disappoint you, right. you know what, that's just too bad.

now i want to tell you: you think that he is ideal and very capable but look what happens. life is unpredictable, let alone a person. i mean if he is not willing to work things out, isn't it equals to nothing? now we have a living proof, isn't it. what i want to say is "time will tell and you'll know that i have made the right choice. i hope you get what i'm driving at."

nothing is definite. so what if you think highly of this person, didn't he turn out to be a disappointment? so what if you see him as an ideal, didn't he just prove you wrong? there's no time for you to stand there and keep thinking "what if" because "what if" doesn't exist. OWN THE MOMENT and stop looking back.

went Supreme Court yesterday and i said "superb"! there were security systems to check for sharp items (i mean duh..) or whatever that might be threatening. as Cylysce and I were sorta early, we viewed the gallery. after that we went to one of the courtroom whereby the introduction of the Supreme Court was carried out.

the people from MarComm told us the facilities, technology etc. to demonstrate how high-tech a digital projector is, they used pictures that were taken from the crime scenes and when the autopsy were carried out. and i said "raw".

but the projector is indeed good cos' the campus' projectors need time to focus. this projector from the courtroom can zoom in and out; and it still focus very well.

after that, we were brought to the disc where there was a viewing gallery overlooking the river and the spectators' seats of the F1 (but not the track!) the highest part of the disc is actually Court of Appeal as it signifies its "status" and importance.

before we left the Supreme Court, we went to the hearings of RTC. i guess this is a civil lawsuit, the feeling is not that tense. the judge seemed relaxed and he had a great sense of humor. but the two lawyers were rather aggressive and they tried to outtalk each other. the judge stopped them and asked them if they remembered that one of the "rules" stated that "at anyone time, there should be only one speaker."

the highlight of the day was of cos the TIMBRE. nice place! the music is good. really enjoyed myself and i said "wonderful tonight".

several ideas to put something on my door:
1. "NO ENTRY EXCEPT AUTHORISED PERSONNEL."
2. "NO KNOCKING AFTER 12AM."

gosh, i look so hideous these days. walking zombie, not really zombie.....it's PANDA (just like my slippers). shucks! i shouldnt have bought the panda slippers. *CURSED.

went lorry supper last night and was back in hall at around 3.30am. but only go to Disneyland at about 5am or so (crazy woman!). slpt at 4am the night before lorry supper.

but i really didnt mind at all cos' it was my FAVE chatting session. although i was super sleepy and my eyes were tired, i guess it didnt show it at all (cos i've bigger eyes?) opps! sorry, KK and Qi, no offence; it's not personal atttacks. i really appreciate and treasure the times we can chat till this late. hope there are more to come..

next week is midterm break. yay (in a not-so-excited tone), it's today till next Sun! and i promise to STUDY HARD; chiong LIBRARY everyday. glad someone keep me on check so that i wont slack off. =P hee...

but on Wed, i'll be going to Supreme Court (cos' of my Forensic Science module..so exciting!) i was thinking since i'm out, i might plan for some other activities. one shot play hard as a reward for working hard on Mon and Tues . gosh! how can i be so sure i'll be a chao mugger on Mon and Tues =/ keep me on check, will you?

i was thinking maybe i can go Arts House or something since it's near Supreme Court. Or go to some place like pubs or clubs since it is LADIES' NIGHT..hee..come to think about it, nothing is confirmed yet =( N.A.T.O.

having so many people around me who love me; care for me; support me all is really fortunate. i'm such a lucky girl!

home is a place where you seek shelter when the world outside crushes. hypothetically, if i meet some hurtful incidents, i'm sure home is where i can seek shelter for and nurse all wounds. family members play multiple roles; not just your father, mother and siblings.

my dad is like a walking ATM.. haha =P jokes aside, he is like a chauffeur cos' he always drives us to places we want to go (but that was before i got my license). to me, he is like a coach because he guides me in his favourite game. he is a mafia cos' he is always protecting me and i remembered he told my sis and i "if anyone bully you in school, must come back and tell me okie. i will take care of it." he is also a buddy because we discuss about sports; cars; golf (just anything under the sun lah!)

my mom is like my B.F.F because i will tell her anything, whatever had happened and she patiently listens to me. She is like a guardian angel because she is always very protective towards me. A private nurse because whenever i fell sick, she never feel to take good care of me. I remembered those days when i had high fever, which was once every one or two months, because it meant sleepless nights for her. She's like a nutritionist because she always cook healthily and help me to clean the apples so that i can bring to school every week.

sis is my advisor because she always opens my eyes to see things in another perspective. whenever we sing, she is the best person to duet with. she is my movie date. she is my feelings (sounds funny, but it's true) because whenever i hurt myself, she feels the pain more than i do. Just almost a year ago when i sprained my foot, i called her and told her about it. she actually cried when i told her how i fell and sprained my ankle. honestly, i felt so touched. like i always say; if i feel pain, she feels 10 times or more painful than me.

nothing ranks above my family..

shall continue why i'm the fortunate girl the next time =)

yesterday, was not feeling great at all. so, just want to say three messages to three different people.

to her: i'm so sorry about yesterday afternoon. totally understand the worries and concerns. but guess, were just too impatient to drill the whole idea into each other's head. failed to listen. // honestly, was kinda offended yesterday. strong believer of someone who is very rational and emotionally-strong; and dead sure that you agree so too. may be did too much inference or something, felt as if doubts and disappointment surfaced. was totally frustrated. felt distant so much that the conversation had failed and communication had broken down. // you know what, i feel like hugging and telling you now that "i'm sorry and i love you so much".

to her: thanks for the call last night (it means a lot to me). thanks for being so patient and understanding. thanks for listening. thanks for all the advices and the trust. thank you so much for the reassurance. // it was really comforting after a horrible conversation (bet you knew, else wouldnt have called). glad you understand and try to see things at the same perspective. promise you that will give it a thought. was so touched towards the end of conversation. i promise i will. know we treasure each other so much; never have doubts in it.

to you: i'm so sorry about last night. i just don't want to add on to more unnecessary pressure. just want you to be comfortable and at ease and not worried about it. // thanks for the assurance and the patience. thanks for always being a listener. thanks for cheering me up. thanks for all the care and concern. thanks for being just there. // honestly, really hope you can tell me about your thoughts, feelings for anything and everything. sometimes, i really love to be a listener too. //like the gist of a song goes: it won't be easy. there will be times when we're apart. but i promise..........

i'm homeless again..yup, for another weekend..my parents had changed the gate this time. a new door, a new lock last week. so cool, everything is new. hee..and my room is going to be PINK. haha..gosh, sounds bimbotic, bimbotic mafia..hmm..but come on, I'M A GIRL AFTER ALL!

don't know why but i believe i can do it. been thinking of a perfect starting like should i start with a statement? a question? a stand? or maybe i can start with an introduction, body and then conclusion.

introduction: i know you're right and your intentions for saying all that. i know you love me too much to see me fell down and i really appreciate for that. but if i've never fell, how do i know that it hurts to fall? if i never fall, how do i know how to stand up? if i never learnt to stand up, i will never dare to fall again. (sounds negative.. hmm..let's try something more positive) i know you don't bear to or want to watch me "perform tightrope walking". but i really hope you can trust me for this and give me your fullest support.

body: ...yada yada...

conclusion: really appreciate for all the trusts you have in me all the while. grateful that you're always supportive of my decisions. to me, nothing is more important than having you support my decision and faith in me. trust me; like you, i've been thinking a lot about it too. but you know me, if i've never try, i won't give up. it's just not me to give up without putting up a fight; without knowing where it will lead me to. this time, just asking you to put your worries, doubts aside and trust me; or rather us. have a little faith in your girl!

alright! long day to go..jiayou x3, girl =) cheers!

Saturday, September 13, 2008

today was super exciting! was trapped in the lift. it was quite cool (yah, sounds psychotic!) i think i'm really like mafia manz. while i was msging, the lift suddenly stopped moving.

i thought i was cool in a sense that i just kinda treat it calmly. called the town council.

Operator: hello, Town Council.
Kexi: I'm trapped in the lift.
O: Where are you staying?
K: ... ... yada-yada ... ...
O: Which lift? A, B, C?
K: A
O: Ok, i'll send people down as soon as possible.
K: Erm..that will be how long?
O: 25mins

oh..and my dad..so funny..he called the town council 10mins after the first called. he complained that it was super stuffy and we were going to faint. he even asked the operator to call ambulance (omg! yes, he is my dad..super cool! haha)

lucky none of my family members are claustrophobic but i guess my mom was kinda nervous. she could not smile or talk to us. her facial expression showed that she was deep in her thougts. so we tried to distract her by telling her lame stuff. she just merely made it to a smile.

after 25mins, mom spoked up suddenly because the light kinda flickered. after that, we were "rescued". after we got out, dad told the operator one whole lorry of words but i understand nothing cos he was speaking Malay (wohoo, so cool manz!) but i guess he was telling the operator that we were TOO IMMUNE TO BE TRAPPED IN THE LIFT. tat's why we were all so calm (haha..) then we stopped at Lv 6. my mom decided to climb the stairs. but we reassured her that nothing will happen again. i mean even if we were trapped again, the rescue team is already there so we will be rescue in less than 25mins. =)

oh, and the classic: my mother calmly said "see if you girls still dare to come back late at night again or not".. i mean seriously, thanks mom..don't need to remind us at that moment right..haha..

oh wells, it was quite a great experience because i think that's when you start to see the true self of a person. i'm so glad i wasn't trapped alone (haha..with my family).
been living in Disneyland for the past five days. it's a wonderful fantasy world that sometimes you don't feel like getting out. but well, as i've said, reality hurts but it's the truth. and yes, reality always sets in on the sixth and seventh day when i got home. as much as i'm rational most of the time, i also want to live in Disneyland. gosh! come to think about it, it's like a cycle. fantasy fantasy fantasy fantasy fantasy reality reality; and i'm going in and out of it.

school is quite a fantasy actually because all are rather theoretical. students are the happiest group of people in the world. no worries at all. society is different because it's really hands-on practical. everything is new to you. everyday you'll meet new people and get different experience. the thing is people change when they move from one realm to another. for instance, from school to society. everything changes. differences are widen and magnified.

really have no confidence in overcoming at this point. at least a good seven years. it's surely not going to be smooth sailing. can already see two major obstacles to overcome.

she thinks that i'm a good girl but he thinks that i should be rebellious at times; and i think i know my limit. she see no future in it but he believes that i should learn to take risks; and i believe it's time for me to move out of my comfort zone. she said "wait" and "fruitless". he asked "is it a big problem?" and i said if we have faith and trust to overcome all odds. it's simple to say but it's not easy to work it out. it's simple to be together but not easy to maintain it.

not too greedy, for now need three C's will do: convince, confidence, commitment.

despite all these thoughts, one still has to eat to generate more complicated thoughts. cant believe we are taking train to have dinner cos the car is with my sis. gosh, i'm such a spoiled brat. haha..but i guess it's goin to be fun since my dad doesn't take train; probably once or twice every year..haha..

writing my interactive story. gosh, it's so freakin hard. it's either i do not have love or i don't watch/read enough sappy love story. trying to create the atmosphere by listening to my favourite romantic love songs. but nothing works! (oh craps!)

i guess i'm just someone very practical in relationship; always do some reality check. sometimes, i feel that if it can't work out, i'll just move on. i mean no point wasting time and drag on cos' ultimately, it's going to hurt the both of us.

i've always been sticking to my principle and trying to avoid such situation. but hey, look what i've done?! i've landed myself in to the sticky situation and the problem is i am letting it to happen (watssup x3). where is my composure?

i know she's right. anything can happen but what am i doing now, dismissing her advice. sometimes, reality is so scary. it hurts but still, it is the truth. it's hard to accept but you got to learn it, love it, live it.

whatever it is, i'll feign ignorance, act stupid.

I LOVE TODAY because...

- went to Anatomy Museum.
i was so excited when i was "invited" to visit the Anatomy Museum. i saw cells, organs, body parts, fetus, brains and many others. i mean i've always love biology (yes, i was a Pure Biology student back in Secondary Sch, okay..haha). i was so fascinated by the specimens. it surprised me when i was told that those specimens were from real humans. apparently, these specimens are really well-preserved because i could really see the nitty-gritty details of the human parts. sounds kinda weird but i totally enjoyed myself when i was there. it was really like an eye-opener before i graduate from NUS. the so-called lecture was so "lively". not that the students were responsive, it's just that the lecturer asked for a volunteer (males only, of course!) and used his body as an example. i mean come on, you cant get this in my faculty lectures. and seriously, i don't mind going AGAIN. =)

- i finally visited Science Library.
and i am writing this entry in Science Lib. nothing special here except me (hee..=P) cos' i'm an exchange student (haha..inter-faculty exchange student). but i saw my secondary school friends in here. so cool manz cos' we havent seen each other since almost 10-11 months ago. it's just so nice to see someone you have not met for some time at the least expected places.

i'm doing my interactive storytelling project. the task is to write a story and make it interactive. the first story that came to my mind was THE CLASSIC (scroll over to click on the link!) it is the best korean movie i've ever watched. totally sweet and it melt my heart. i remembered that my sis was so surprised to see me crying over the movie (you see, i don't usually cry over ficticious love story..hee). another thing you probably never know is that i still wake up every morning to the OST of this movie =) well, i guess probably i watched the movie that's why i particularly love the song. the music is kinda catchy and i really feel the sweetness whenever i hear it.

WARNING: if you want to watch the movie, please DO NOT READ ON because SPOILER AHEAD.

this song was played in the part when the guy offered to shelter the girl to library with his coat. the twist was that the guy was actually sitting in a cafe and saw the girl at a outdoor bench under a tree. it was raining heavily (of course!). the guy then purposely left his umbrella to the cafe owner and ran to the girl as if he was finding a shelter under the tree like her. Having "met her by coincidence", he offered to shelter her to library with his coat. so the both of them ran together IN THE RAIN (the title of the song.)

sometimes, it's really sweet to think of such lovey-dovey scene especially on rainy days. but seriously, such things can never happened i guess. cos first, it's too warm to bring a coat around. secondly, it's not realistic so dont be silly (haha..) thirdly, i'm so used to run in the rain since i dont really like to carry umbrella around.

opps! did i just type about the movie and nothing about my interactive assignment?

mom called this mornin and told me that dad is going Genting 3 days 2 nights to golf! (%$#%$#, without me!) my goodness! so that means i only get to see him a couple of hours before coming back to hall on Sunday night.

talking about school, i wish every day will pass slower so that i can enjoy every moment of it. i'm starting to miss school. i love the late night studying =) alrite, time to play games in tutorial today!

Sunday, August 31, 2008

weather is turning crazy. supposed to be hot and humid because today is SUNday. instead of being sweaty, i was caught in the rain.

supposed to participate forum (at least that's what i planned to..haha) but i'm procrastinating every weekend. watssup man, kexi! =/ week 4..two more weeks to mid of semester. shucks! that is freaking fast. how i wish time will slow down a little..find me doreamon!

went jogging with dad as usual, sharing what i did for the past one week in hall. we went to this exercise corner in the garden to utilize the facilitiesthat the gauhtment had built with public's fund. saw this man in his late 50s spat on grass patch near the exercise corner. i think he has the habit of spitting because when i was there last week, he did the same action. it was kind of disgusting lah. though i'm not a very science person since secondary school, i'm sure germs are flying around..yar right, who says more fresh air in the morning -_-'''

so happy! found my two other cousins on facebook through email search. one of them is my cousin in States, another is my fave cousin. talking about cousins, i miss them lots and i can't wait to gather with them soon. but i guess it's going to be real soon cos' granny's bday is round the corner. =)

i love my room so much! like a STRAWBERRY FARM! if you're reading this..yes, you Damien, THANKS for the strawberry and stitch! so cute =) you're the best SNDCC date manz..

i can't believe it. first, i played game for my project purposes; secondly, i went to watch a movie for my essay. and yes, just came back from Vivo after watching 12 Lotus with Cylysce.

oh well, i'm not a fan of 12 Lotus, neither fan of Royston Tan. the pictures are to attach on my essay. apparently, we were the youngest among the other audience! the movie was not bad, rather abstract but still understandable.

when we took pictures in front of these standees, we were quite uncomfortable. but after a while, i got "warmed up" and i thought it was pretty cool lah..haha..doing something out of the norm. WE ARE SUCH A BIGGER FAN THAN THE REST OF THE AUDIENCE, EH...

(there was this uncle in front of me when i took this pic. i was quite SHY lah..*blush)

(and though there was a whole bunch of aunties in front of me when taking this pic, i think i still can be quite NATURAL..haha)

the next movie i'm goin to watch is MY SASSY GIRL. the trailer seems good and sssweeit ;) anyone want to join me?

alrite, time for class and i can only say TGIF after 10pm.

today was a pretty long day for me. actually, come to think about it, it wasnt very long after all. it was just that i had project meeting from 6-8.30pm and what we did was playing games (haha..cos the project we working on was Game Design project.) Officially play without any guilt!

i had one slice of bread for dinner. then had some veggies that my neighbor tau-paoed for me. suddenly, lost appetite and now i'm hungry. weird, i didnt bother to find food. instead, i came here to blog.

anw, tomorrow is SNDCC. and i made improvements on my date's poster =) i'm so glad because it was really great improvement. give credits to my neighbor for giving me comments and showing me a website. learnt from there and applied on my date's poster (hee).

cool, right! i love it myself manz and i'm going to do one for myself too. kinda having headache now. going to bed.

anw, this will also be a delayed post because he should be the first one who get to see this before anyone. so probably after i've given him this poster then i'll upload. =) and hope he doesn't mind putting his picture up on my blog.

will be back!

haven been updating this blog for couple of weeks..

school had re-opened for the second week. i am so happy to be back in school again. just somehow, i've a mixed feeling. now that i'm graduating, i suddenly miss school so much. i mean even now that i'm in school, i still feel that i'm missing school already.

pretty busy with my five modules. so many readings to do and i have to hand in 3 assignments every week. brainstorm for games every tuesday evening with my groupmates for at least two hours.

next wednesday is SNDCC in hall. made something for my date.

it's a paintball concept..on second look, it doesnt reflect tat right =(

obviously, it's a mickey mouse idea. i don't know why the main color scheme is reddish-orange. but my main color scheme on my laptop is COOL BLUE..hmm... =/

delayed posting: just in case he sees the designs in this blog before the event, then there won't be surprises already..haha..

haven't been blogging for some time..

work ended and school started. talking about work, i almost got knocked down by a motorbike on my last day of work. i felt so horrible and stunned. it happened on this major road and it was considerably congested.

traffic built up on the first two lanes and the third lane was a bus lane so naturally, all vehicles are on the first two lanes. as i crossed between the first two lanes, i didn't realise that there was a oncoming motorbike moving between lane 1 and lane 2. i crossed the road and he was coming at my direction. we missed each other by an inch. i swear, really by an inch. i've never been that close to a moving vehicle. and i got sh*t scared.

i suddenly felt that life is really vulnerable, so fragile. sometimes, we take the presence of other people around for granted. we don't appreciate them until they have left us. after they left us, then we realise how important they are.

a lot of times we will keep asking ourselves "what if i've done this and that.." but seriously, no matter how many times of "what if" we have thought and said, nothing can change the fact that they have left us. so TREASURE YOUR LOVE ONES AND LIVE LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. own the moment and live with no regrets..

just came back from a short trip to Johor..went with my family and stayed over at the CintaAyu, Pulai Spring.. we booked the studio apartment and the room was actually quite nice =)

we went there on yesterday after my work. within 45 minutes, we cleared the customs. it was considerably fast. after that, we checked into the hotel and went out to walk around town.

i had the best black sesame paste ever! it was super delicious and inexpensive. RM2.80 only! i just love anything with black sesame. though after eating it, teeth will be discolored; still i love black sesame!

at night, we went back to the clubhouse to watch movie - mr. bean on holiday. the movie was sometime back and super exaggerating. my sis and i still decided on that movie because my parents had not watched it. apparently, they find the movie hilariously exaggerating.

the next morning, i woke up at 6am, waiting for the sky to get brighter so that i can go to the putting green with dad. the putting practice with dad was good. mom went along too and she tried to putt. she was so encouraging and whenever my ball rolled near the hole, she made sound effect. she appluaded when my ball rolled into the hole. my dad also commented "good shot!" =)

after that, we went breakfast and then followed by a swim! i love swimming! dad didnt know how to swim so he was jogging in the pool. he suggested to practise swing in the pool. it was so difficult because of the resistance.

and we came back through the Second Link. we were in the jam for a little while but overall the trip is super delightful. it's really not where we go but WHO WE ARE WITH. =) the FANGs

i just hate watching romantic, sappy drama series. realistically, such ideal romantic scenes don't exist. they only make you feel romantic, mislead you into fantasizing the ideal romance and makes you expect that the sweetness will happen to you too. they only exist because they are there to fulfill what is lacking in your life.

i mean i do like the sweet feeling, romantic love. it's just that i don't like watching because it just lead you to set a certain standard and expectations. then when your boyfriend failed to respond in the "expected" manner, you will feel he is unromantic. but then face it, life is hard. don't be so hard on your other half.

it rained for the past few days. i was caught in the rain. some memories just flooded my mind. back then, i've a friend who messged me on a rainy day, wanting to sheltered me. the rain was rather light so i thought it would be much of a trouble of my friend to shelter me. besides, i'm already used to not bring umbrella and ran in the rain. though i still ran in the rain that day, i felt a tingling of sweetness. sometimes, it is really not how heavy the rain is, but it's the thought that counts.

recently, i fell in love with a song - My Love will Get You Home by Christine Glass. it is a simple song but i'm so touched by it. because to me, love is just being there for your other half even if it's not physically there. just let me feel your presence and that you care for me, that will do. below is the lyrics.

My love will get you home - Christine Glass

If you wander off too far
My love will get you home
If you follow the wrong star
My love will get you home

If you ever find yourself
Lost and all alone
Get back on your feet and think of me
My love will get you home, boy
My love will get you home

If the bright lights blinds your eyes
My love will get you home
If your troubles break your stride
My love will get you home
If you ever find yourself
Lost and all alone
Get back on your feet and think of me
My love will get you home, boy
My love will get you home

If you ever feel ashame
My love will get you home
If its only you to blame
My love will get you home
If you ever find yourself
Lost and all alone
Get back on your feet and think of me
My love will get you home, boy
My love will get you home

If you ever find yourself
Lost and all alone
Get back on your feet and think of me
My love will get you home, boy
My love will get you home, boy
My love will get you home

just came back from GIANT at tampines. needless to say, it is really huge. and we bought the king and queen of fruits - that is durians and mangosteens. oh, and not forgetting lychees (yummy!). my mom and i are not very into durians so our votes are for mangosteens. whereas my dad and sis are durian-lovers (haha..)

oh my goodness, my sis didnt want her durians to be placed in the car boot so she brought it to the car seats. of cos, the pungent smell was so strong that i kept complaining. not that i dont like durian, it's just that i dont particularly like it. i mean i can live perfectly well without it.

our house's fridge is filled with fruits and the fruit royalties.

though retail therapy, exercise and etc. to de-stress were all done, nothing can compare to just speaking the truth from the bottom of my heart. because i've faced it and already said my piece, footsteps to everywhere are so much lighter now. i just want to live with no regrets.

yes, i finally let it all out. all my thoughts, my feelings.

sometimes, it is really not the outcome that matters. really. what really matters is that i've given all my best. at least that is what i feel. when i ask myself if i've done my best, i can proudly say that i've done everything i can because i've already given my 100 per cent.

it is just so amazing. my advice to everyone, if you have anything you want to say, just let it out. all the way. you'll never know what's the outcome if you don't. even if it is not the desired outcome, at least you know you didn't let yourself down. courage is all you need.

ironic but true, the fireworks now are still beautiful, with a tinge of romantic feeling when watching it. was at Marina last evening, though i didnt see the fireworks (just listen to it cos' was in an Italian Kitchen), i feel romantic.

i guess last weekend i was really down and pessimistic, that's why it was gloomy everyday. ytd, it was so much of a sunny day. all were bright and gay.

cam-whoring with kk, hD and qi was so fun. and my grad trip with them to S.E. Asia and cruise!

my client was convicted to life imprisonment without any trial and was unable to appeal.

i can't believe it, i can't take it. the judge had dismissed the court before i could make my concluding statement. i was totally disappointed. my mind was in a whirl.

one moment, the surrounding seemed unfamiliar to me. the next moment, i had to think where am i. there are so many questions in my head. sometimes, they were so ridiculous till i started to dislike myself.

it was bad until last evening. I was totally inspired. i was so motivated to fight for my client. i have never actually really fight for it before. but i know this time it's different. i see the point for me to fight, work hard for it. at least, let my client died in the prison with no regrets.

i feel wonderful for wanting to strive for it. i suddenly thought that i have always been taking it for granted all this while. now, i want to live with no regrets and i want you to wait and see.

courage and patience are all we need now. really..i promise!

thanks, guys! i'm good now. decision was made but not what Strawberry wanted it to be. guess in this world, there's no perfect situation. no wonder economist always assume. but do you realise that assume makes an A** out of U & ME?

saw fireworks at the lower seletar. when you do go there, you can see Malaysia on your left and OCC on your right. and the later you go, more cars with striking car decals; bombastic stereo systems playing heart-pounding music.

today was peaceful there. quiet. probably i was early. one thing special was the fireworks. it's quite rare to see fireworks. what an irony. in the past, when i see fireworks, i was extremely delighted. just now i had some thoughts on fireworks.

beautiful, colorful but they don't last. they can only be admired at from afar. untouchable, just visual. the beauty of it is they are meant to kept as memories.

i feel like going to KTV or clubbing. i'm not into clubbing but i just feel like expressing my extreme. probably i'll just get somebody to talk to, that will probably prevent me from being off my norm. right, that's it. i found a solution.

gosh, i'm blabbering again. =(

Strawberry is thinking whether or not,
since it is just a matter of one nod.
Communications and trust are all it takes.
Still, it is a difficult decision to make.
No pressure, no pressure;
Strawberry will decide for sure.

for the past two days, my legs had been suffering. both my feet had blisters on Saturday because of my shoes and i fell down this morning when i went jogging with my dad.

kind of sprained my left ankle. it was swollen a little but still managed to brisk walk for 2.5km with dad at the park. but abrasions on my right leg hurt a lot (hee..i dread showering actually). oh well, this wasnt the first time. i had sprained my left ankle and abrasions on my right knee caused by falling on the gravel about last Nov/Dec. it's the old wound that didnt heal completely the last time (yah, again!)

the first time i sprained my left ankle was during exam period. to be exact, it happened 15 minutes before my first paper. it was really humiliating to fall and limp to examination hall. it was even more embarrassing to keep hitting the side of the knee cap and "fan-ning" the abrasions to divert the pain so that i could do my paper.

i wish my abrasions will heal real fast and that it will not leave scar. =(

i had a mixture of feelings for the past few days. i dont know how to describe. felt kind of lost, unhappy but at the same time, i also felt hope, positive. i think it's because of some ambigous statements and actions. furthermore, the departure. that's why the uncertainty that makes me uneasy.

hope all will be cleared up soon.

i'm sooo... AGAINST the evolution of STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE.

Then Now:
i was reading the ST last week and it was said that America Greetings was planning to change the image of Strawberry to become more tech-savvy by making her carry mobile phone!
i'm just so upset that the evolution doesnt make Strawberry cute and sweet. just look at the pictures above, the 90's Strawberry is much cuter, sweeter; and definitely more innocent. i'm not saying that the current Strawberry is foxy, it's just that Strawberry Shortcake is such a classic cartoon since the 80's. Strawberry's innocently sweet character will definitely be lost somehow during the "evolution".
i guess i'll die of high blood pressure the next time i watch Strawberry Shortcake. Instead of teaching viewers (kids) to be friendly and nice to one another, the current Strawberry will be busy answering her phone in a bimbotic manner. the evolution just simply pissed me off! must get the CUTER, SWEETER 90's Strawberry merchandise (that is a STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE BOTTLE) before she is gone for good.

finally something decent for myself. made the rainbow and bubbles. the quote is what i found online. i thought it applies to me.

sometimes we just magnify, or rather, i used to magnify problems or mistakes. it makes me unhappy and dwell on it all the time. i feel that there is too many "WHAT IF" but life doesn't allow that. so i think it's time for me to change my perspective of looking at problems and mistakes; learn from them and do it right the next time.

i torn my cardigan yesterday just before i stepped out of the house. it's a HOT PINK cardigan! i was plannin to cut just the little label at the shoulder. how i know i would cut the thread too! uh-huh, now i've to mend it back of cos, else it'll never wear it out ever again.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

finally, something up for myself. though i like the color; the shadow and the sun, i think it's quite badly done.

it's so recycled manz! the sky, the grass patch and the person jumping. these stuff were used previously lah. haiz..spend lots of time brainstorming. guess it's because it's for myself, that's why expectations are higher. also because know myself well, so not sure what is it that i really want to bring it out.

and guess what, i actually missed out on putting my name in..hummp! never mind, will coming up with a new one pretty soon.

oh well..keep working, kexi!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

just finished jogging with dad. as i'm waiting for hair to dry, decide to blog.

so, i went to zoo with KK and Hendry yesterday. though there were lots of people because of the World Blood Donor Day, still, i had lots of fun (since it was with them).

in the midst of laughters, saying hi to the animals, we missed Qi.

and yes, a picture paints a thousand words of 'WE MISS HUANG QI' (that's why the yellow flag)..hee..and btw, this is my favourite picture though Hendry took many nice ones. but this is just so symbolic (hee).

we saw the asian-ised polar bear. and guess what, their skin is actually black. it is their white fur that makes them white..erm, not-so-white after all in the picture.

question: zebra-crossing and zebra, which comes first?

wohoo, the crocodile. so cool, right. Hendry rocks manz!

NOTE: there is no such exhibit in zoo.

so as i was saying zoo was packed yesterday because of the World Blood Donor Day. donors who received the postcards are able to exchange for two complimentary tickets to the zoo. probably because it's free, that's why lots of people turned up with their family and little ones. haha..yup, me too! else i've to pay $16+ for entrance fee which rather expensive for a Singaporean. i dont really understand why they didn't set prices for the locals only, instead of charging us prices that tourists are paying too. world class zoo, world class price.

anw, i guess if i were a tourist who went to zoo yesterday, i would be super mad because i can't see the animals (but the people..haha)..so sad!

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

another poster today..for my SISTER.

i was cracking my brain on how to incorporate her name in. initially, we thought of outlining the skirt with her name (oh yes, she contributed..hee) but it turned out to be pretty ugly (haha..oxymoronic habit is back!) i've asked her already. she likes it. but then she commented that if her friends going to see it, they will think..hahaha..i cant say here because it's between the Fang Sisters.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

not sure why, i just dont feel like talking yesterday. i was quite restless in the late afternoon.

anyway, i think sometimes it is quite important to leave mobile phones with your neighbors in case of emergency. like a Chinese saying: neighbor is nearer to you than your relatives when you're in need of help.

yesterday, my neighbor got into an accident. it was pretty serious i'm sure, else the traffic police would have contacted his wife directly on mobile phone. instead, they came to their house and knocked on the door. of cos nobody answered since his wife was at work. luckily, the next-door neighbor came to know about the accident after seeing the traffic police. this neighbor came over to our house and asked my mom if she has the wife's mobile. thank goodness, my mom kept it somewhere.

so that's why i think it's important to exchange contact details with neighbor. but then my mom doesn't like to give our home no. to others.

anyway, just came back from TTSH after visiting this neighbor. so poor thing! his hands and body are tied to the bed. he was not suppose to move because the spine got affected. i wish he will get well soon. it's just so sad to see him being tied and the face is swollen.

to my neighbour: get well soon.
to all motorists : care for yours and others' safety
to all : take care when you're on the road

Thursday, June 5, 2008

this is something i did for Qi. i thought kind of too pink-ish. wanted to give a princess-y, girly sweet feeling but i think it's not very well done. i felt it's more like the diva-kind cos' of the glit from the crown. nonetheless, i hope she likes it.

not sure who is reading this blog. hopefully, somebody will give me feedback. =)

with love, a hopeful blogger

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

yesterday was a suupppeeerr long day. woke up at 6.15am and got out of the house at 7am. reached home at 12.30am.

i went TTSH with dad because he had an examination (not written exam, btw). he had to go through three tests and he had to be injected each time (so poor thing). he must have felt uneasy and depressed. luckily i'm having holiday and able to accompany him. the result is only available in a month's time. hopefully, everything turns out really well.

seriously, i don't understand why the hospital needs such a long time. it really worries the patients and adds on to unnecessary stress. but then, i felt that the hospital service is good. the nurses are so much approachable and look friendlier.

before leaving the hospital, i saw Choon Han and he showed off his white coat to me (bleah!). after that, i went town to walk around. it's quite amazing that i still manage to walk and window-shop from Orchard to Douby Ghaut. finally, my legs gave in and i sat in Thai Express for couple of hours day-dreaming.

then, i went to watch 'Accuracy of Death' with my sister. the movie was really simple but enjoyable, partly because of takeshi kaneshiro. he is still so cute and handsome, especially when he is acting as informant. i was thinking if a Shinigami is to ask me "what do you think of death", i guess i won't be afraid because i have no regrets for now. but i bet i miss my family and friends.

after the movie, my sister actually wanted me to accompany her to her gathering at Holland V (can't believe it!) but then, it didnt turn out as horrible as i thought. the topic they were talking about was quite funny. but felt a bit bad because we stayed until NYDC literally going to close (the music was off already though..haha)

Done with KK's

For K.K.:

hope you like this poster i made for you. took some time to design because i really can't think of any idea. guess that's because we shared so much with each other and the mutual understanding kind of deepens. i hope this poster will inspire and motivate you to move on when times are harder for you. Thanks for sharing with me all your thoughts and feelings. It really means a lot to me. Jiayou ya, will always be there for you.

Something for my friends

For Charles:

"Welcome home! Time for all the 'bak-kut tehs', 'bak-kwas' and all the 'baks'. Thanks for allowing me to flood your msn even when you are offline. I designed this artwork to thank you for being there =) well, though this is not 100 per cent original, still i hope you like it"

For Hendry:

"School's in and it's time to go back to school. So good luck and all the best in SMU. Don't forget about us when school starts okie. We still need you to take pretty pictures of us with your antique camera (the one that needs "fee-lim")."

Up next are KK's and Qi's (but will take some time to do lah cos' tonight will be out to watch movie - Made of Honor)..

Class Assignments

this assignment is titled: Talking Forms.

it was group activity that was meant to complete during lecture. i did this exercise with two other friends. the lecturer gave our group two topics to work on: "ingenious" and "surprise".

below are the ideas that we came up with after consulting the tutors.

some basic requirements are to use basic elements (i.e. line and dot) to create 2 abstract / semi-abstract representative images conveying meaning of each word. Also, there are only two colors to be used (excluding paper color).

Saturday, April 5, 2008

Assignment 6: Design Analysis

the eighth tutorial (01/04):

it's april's fool! anyway, this week's tutorial is rather relaxing because the subject that we are supposed to present is not design by us (aww..) so this assignment is to find a good and bad posters that allow us to apply theories on them. so below are the...

GOOD...

for the GOOD:
there is flow in looking at the picture. from the sun to the tagline, down to the stream and finally to the foreground. cool colors (blue and green) are used. the color scheme is analogous because there are different shades of green.

  1. sun - principles of visual: expressive line -> jagged lines express energy or anger.
  2. trees - principles of visual: similarity -> the trees are similar to one another.
  3. windmill - gestalt principles: closure -> the triangles shape out the windmill.
  4. small shrubs - complementary color -> the green is a cool color and red color is a warm color; both are opposite of each other in the color wheel.
  5. ducks - principles of visual: contrast in size -> the ducks are of different sizes.
  6. stream - gestalt principles: continuity -> the stream is as if flowing from the background to the foreground.
  7. sheep - gestalt principles: proximity -> the sheep are closed to one another so it is depicted as a group.

as for the bad:
i guess you just have to read it. seriously, just try reading it and time yourself. i think the circles make it so hard for readers' to get the message. furthermore, the gradient makes the white color words "fade" into the background. i hope you have fun reading but don't torture your eyes when doing so (hee..)

..and the BAD...

Assignment 5: Greeting Card (theme: LOVE)

the seventh tutorial (25/03):

my greeting card was more or less 90 percent complete before this tutorial. there was one problem pointed out - the text.

as the heart needed wide spaces, the words should not stretch too much across. in addition, the spacing between the lines were rather compact. so i've made some modification to it by expanding space between the lines and shrinking the size of the words. below is my final work:

hope you like it. =)

Greeting Card (theme: LOVE): Draft

the sixth tutorial (19/03):

over the weekend, i was surfing the website for inspiration. looking out for quotes and all. finally, i decide to do on: CONFESSION and LOST LOVE.

i guess it will be interesting because love confession should be innocently sweet. so the color scheme used is pink (of course!). also, because of the innocence, i used white color to trace out the silhoutte of a man and a young lady. i want to do a silhoutte because it is rather easy (since i don't really need to worry about the facial expression) and that is SECRET love (so personally, i feel silhoutte give such feeling).

a confession i have to make: i traced the man and the young lady from online picture. but i did some modification like the rose was add on and the man's stomach was flatten (hee..). hope you like it..enjoy~

comments from the class:
1. the pink color made them tired. i guess it was too overwhelming (hee..) so i need to change the color. most probably make the pink lighter.

2. the quote is rather long. i will most probably make it smaller. another classmate also mentioned that the quotation didn't have any love meaning in it. i'm not too sure about it but i thought it is quite sweet. i guess i feel this way because i watched the movie.

as mentioned, this is my LOST LOVE card. it is kind of weird because i'm sure this card would not sell in the market. however, i designed it just for fun. to be honest, when i was working on the card, i was kind of sad. well, not that i've just lost my love, it's just some unknown causes.

the girl in the card was also traced and i've also made some modifications. in the original picture, the girl was sitting down. she was not crying and the butterfly was actually flying towards her.

since i am trying to express a lost love, it is rather ironic to have the butterfly flying towards her (well, i hope i successfully "make the butterfly = love"). thus, the butterfly is flying towards the window, away from her.

comments from the class:
1. nobody will buy this card (haha..) i kind of expected they will say that because i guess i won't buy it either.

2. one of my classmate mentioned that the butterfly did not look as if it was flying out. so he suggested i should place the edge of the butterfly to the back so as to make the connection.

3. the window should looke more like a window. i'm thinking of adding shadow so making the feeling as if the light source from outside is brighter than the interior.

4. the tear drop: it is quite redundant because the whole card already suggested it. it's either i should enlarge the tear drop or remove the tear drop.

that's about it.

Greeting Card (theme: LOVE): Draft II

after thinking for some time, i decide to take the CONFESSION design as my final. not because i've lost my love, it really makes me feel sad when designing it. though i really like the concept a lot, i don't really know how to do the effects (casting the shadow from the window, making the room a bit brighter).

well, actually the Confession design not too bad, just that the concept is simple and everyone is doing lovey-dovey card (so not very outstanding). but oh well, this card is too Swweeet.. =)

my second draft:

i've change the color of the circles and the arrangement of it. also, i've decreased the font size.

Friday, March 7, 2008

Assignment 4: Save This/That

after looking through the last posters, i feel that the red colored words can't be seen. i guess i'll just stick to white colored wordings. and YES, THIS IS THE FINAL. (haha).

this is the most updated poster i've made because i find the previous copy quite "crappy". i'm seriously not sure what nice phrases can be used to link piracy and the fist together. so hopefully, somebody will be nice to help me out with this. thank you so much. =)

the final poster that i'm planning to submit:

there are a couple of changes from the last poster:

1. missing laptops: since i'm planning to focus on just pirated cds, i'll keep to my cds and "discard" the uploading/downloading idea.

2. the copy: as mentioned, i will change the heading and the body copy. i wanted to make the words simple and outstanding. i thought that by using slang may somehow catch attention and it is rather in a local context. it says: "you cheapo! stop piracy, stop starving your favorite idol, stop being such a cheapskate."

3. copy color: i've decided to make it red because it capture attention (again). i thought red goes well with black background. it stands out but not so much that it is "separated from the background"

as compared to the draft, it is much more simpler. there are lesser items in the poster and reduce messiness. there are lesser items to clutter the poster and have more spaces. hopefully, there will be more comments whether is it an improvement from the previous one.

Save This/That: Draft

the fifth tutorial (12/03):

oh, if you're sensitive to the dates, by now i guess you've realised that the date is on a Wednesday, instead of the usual Tuesday. due to some unforeseen circumstances, i can't make it for my usual tutorial slot so i went to a Wednesday morning class as a make-up.

this is what i'd presented to the class. basically, the idea was PIRACY (i hope you can see that..haha..). the message that i wanted to appeal to people was to stop (demonstrated by the fist) piracy and buy original; also stop sharing files. as for the heading, i was finding a word to link the whole idea of piracy and fist. to be honest, i could not find that one word and the body copy was just a rough idea.

comments from the class:
1. mixture of concepts because piracy is one issue and downloading is another issue. it is hard to portray both concepts out.
- actually, it is quite true. as in when i was designing, i was so much into thinking what to put in and neglect what does piracy really mean. thus, i'm planning to change to either anti-piracy or stop illegal downloading.

2. the words cannot be seen because of the background. i've to admit that i've tried using a contrasting color. However, it stood out so much that it seemed to me that it was two different entities.
- in my final changes, i'll take note of it and may be i'll try to play with other colors so that the words do not stand out but also on the other hand, not to the extent of blending into the background. of course, i'll change the words because it is really meaningless.

3. besides that, i think my motion blur was not very well done. i felt that it was more like the hand sprinkled some flakes rather than breaking the cds. so hopefully, someone will help me with the effects and answer to my call for help..

one thing that i should mention is that i want to give credits to my father for participating enthusiastically in this project. i really like the idea that the fist break the pirated cds..hee..and so glad that he is involved =)

Assignment 3: U C What I C

after two weeks, i finally finished this assignment.

oh yeah, the man in the picture is my father (*wink) cool huh, he didn't reject my request when i asked him to be my model. he was super sporting and cooperative when i asked him to do such action. though he was kind of camera shy initially, he still managed to hold his laughter and froze there till i snapped the picture. my mother and sister had a great laugh when my father was "modelling".

U C What I C: Draft

the fourth tutorial (04/03):

this is what i had presented in class.

oh well, the story goes like this:
"i was crying bitterly over something and i had the "intentions to commit suicide". thus, the stool and rope. instead of the rope, a fishing net was of better use. the story ends with the fact that i was actually trying to fish out my dead fish and i was sad because of the dead goldfish."

my classmates commented that:

1. the first two frames should be removed because the 3rd frame already depicted my sadness. they also mentioned that if i insisted on putting up the first two, i should use either the fish tank as a background instead of facing it.

i agreed to what they said because personally, i felt the first two frames were quite out of place. the initial idea was that i was so sad over something and i happened to cry in front of the fish tank and lean against it. however, i guess it was rather hard to portray that out.

i guess i will remove the first two frames to create more curiousity and re-take the 3rd frame from the top. as mentioned in class, this might portray a different feeling than just taking it at eye level.

2. i should not use 'cross' or 'tick' to convey the message that the fishing net was of better use than the rope.

i also have to agree to it. one of them suggested that i should ask my mother or sister to show me that the fishing net is better than the rope. again, the initial idea was that i wanted to capture a hand throwing the rope away. however, it was quite difficult to capture that moment. so i was thought of "crossing" the rope.

i plan to remove the two frames and change them to something like probably my sister taking the rope away and frowning at my silliness to fish out a dead fish with a rope. in the next frame, she will pass me a fishing net while i stand on the stool.

that's about it. the next post will be a final copy of this assignment.

Assignment 2: Level of Abstraction

there..my final product for Assignment 2:

the purpose of this assignment is to make the images talk, developing skills in controlling visual message. So the process of abstraction is to reduce of mulitple visual factors to only the essential and most typical features of what is being represented.

initially, i didn't want to draw the button. however, looking at it for a while, i feel that it is kind of essential to make the abstract clearer that it is a camera.
